The sudden drop in glucose when we are hungry may impact our mood, making us “hangry”, suggests a new study. When rats were given a glucose blocker, they had higher cortisol levels and showed behavior similar to a poor mood. When researchers gave them an antidepressant, the behavior disappeared.
