In a worldwide study on sleep, nearly a quarter of a million nights of sleep were measured (n=17,355, age 16-30). There is a steady decrease in sleep duration from age 16 to 30. Sleep timing shifts later from 16 to 24. People in Europe and North America slept longest, Asian countries shortest.
